This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, store, and handle your personal information when you purchase a reading or digital product from me, subscribe to my newsletter, contact me, or otherwise interact with my work.

For the purposes of this policy, “I,” “me,” and “my” refer to Joshua David Kaye.

2. What Information I Collect

Depending on how you interact with me, I may collect the following information:

• your email address

• your payment-related information

• your birth data, including date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth

• any information you choose to provide when booking a reading

• any questions, notes, or preferences you submit with your order

• any messages you send by email, Substack, Stripe, or direct message

• information relating to purchases of digital products, readings, or subscriptions

When you begin a purchase through Stripe, I may receive personal information connected with that purchase process even if you do not complete the transaction. Stripe states that business users may receive personal data in connection with a purchase process even if the customer does not finish it.

3. How I Use Your Information

I use your information to:

• process and fulfil your order

• deliver readings, reports, recordings, and digital products

• communicate with you about your booking or purchase

• respond to questions and customer service requests

• keep records of purchases, delivery, and agreed terms

• improve the clarity and operation of my offers and services

• comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations where required

If you purchase a reading, I use the personal information you provide, including birth data and any booking notes, to prepare and deliver the service you requested.

4. Payment Processing

Payments may be processed through Stripe, bank transfer, or crypto, depending on the service purchased.

If you pay through Stripe, Stripe processes personal data according to its own privacy policy. Stripe also states that business users should provide their own privacy policy explaining how they collect, use, process, and handle customer personal data.

I do not store full card details on my own systems.

5. Substack

If you subscribe to my publication or interact with my content through Substack, your information may also be processed by Substack in accordance with Substack’s own privacy policy. Substack explains that it collects, uses, stores, shares, transfers, and processes personal information through its website and services.

6. Lawful Basis and Purpose

I collect and use personal information only where there is a reason to do so, including:

• to fulfil a purchase or provide a service you requested

• to communicate with you about that service

• to maintain basic business and delivery records

• to comply with legal obligations

• where you have chosen to provide information directly to me

I only use the information reasonably necessary for those purposes.

7. How I Store and Protect Your Information

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information and limit access to it to what is necessary for running my services and delivering your purchases.

However, no online method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. How Long I Keep Your Information

I keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• deliver the service or product you purchased

• maintain records of transactions, delivery, and communications

• resolve disputes or respond to chargebacks

• meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations

When information is no longer reasonably needed, I may delete it or anonymise it.

9. Sharing Your Information

I do not sell your personal information.

I may share your information only where necessary to operate my services, including with service providers or platforms used to run my business, such as:

• Stripe, for payment processing

• Substack, for publication and subscription management

• email or file-delivery tools used to send your reading or purchased materials

• professional advisers or authorities where disclosure is legally required

Stripe notes that business users may share customer data with third-party service providers involved in delivering services.

10. Marketing and Communication

If you subscribe to my newsletter through Substack, you may receive emails connected to that subscription through Substack’s systems. Substack’s privacy policy explains that it processes personal information through its services and describes users’ choices and rights regarding that use.

If you purchase from me, I may contact you in relation to your order, delivery, or service.

I do not add private client information to public marketing materials without permission.

11. Sensitive Information

Birth data can be personal and, in some contexts, sensitive. I collect it only because it is necessary to provide the astrology service you requested.

Please do not send unnecessary sensitive personal information beyond what is required for your booking.

12. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing.

Substack states that its privacy policy describes users’ rights and how they can exercise them. Stripe’s Privacy Center also explains that individuals may have rights in relation to personal data held by Stripe.

13. Children

My services are not intended for children.

Please do not purchase a reading or provide personal information if you are under the age required by applicable law to do so.

14. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

If I make material changes, I will update the policy on the relevant page. The most current version will apply from the time it is posted.
